OUR PEOPLE

You can recognize an iflix person from a mile away.

(And that has nothing to do with the iflix t-shirt they wear so proudly.)

We’re a little different: we colour outside the lines, we march to the beat of our own drum. And sometimes it’s a little off-beat, but that’s okay. We move freely, and a little faster than the crowd.

We are confident and smart. Very smart. But nobody likes a smartass, so we always remember to stay humble. We make big bets and always back each other because we’re one team with one purpose. To put people in the driving seat of entertainment.

This purpose is always in our sights and everyday, we turn up to obsess over the shit that matters, big and small. Like, the customer experience and “what should we call this little button here?” and making our technology so brilliant and simple, the user won’t even notice it’s there!

KEEP IT 100.

We also keep it real. We’re not perfect because let’s face it, nobody is (even Brad Pitt). Mistakes happen and we learn from it. We remind each other not to be a Victim and blame others or circumstances beyond our control. We strive to be a Player, that embraces responsibility, even if the only fault may be that we didn’t find a solution, but we are curious about what could be done differently, and humble enough to ask for help.

Be a learner and not a knower.

There are no absolute ‘right’ answers. There is ‘my perspective’, and if you disagree, you probably have a different perspective. Mistakes and setbacks are a natural part of our learning curve, and not frustrating failures or proof of inability. Iflix people work hard and play even harder….

WE HIRE

DIFFERENTLY.

We don’t hire skilled people and motivate them.ᅠ We hire motivated people and unleash them.

We believe people are either pumped-up, or they are not. Unless you give motivatedᅠ people something to believe in, something bigger than their job to work towards, they will motivate themselves to find a new job, and we’ll be stuck with whoever’s left*. Which sucks for both parties.

Firstly, we want people who are passionate about movies and TV shows – who have spentᅠ weekends binge-watching; who fiddle with systems to get the best audio and video quality; who remember favourite movie quotes and can vigorously debate which TV characters kick ass the most. Mostly, we want people who are truly passionate about change and how it redefines how people in emerging markets consume entertainment. We want crazies who see a future that does not exist, that talk to walls and only wear Polo tees and are maniacally driven to build it.

We turn up because of the people around us. You know, the fiercely driven ones, the quietly talented ones or the ones whose distortion of reality present challenges that stretch us.

We stay for the freedom to do things differently. To not to drop the ball when it’s handed to us. We stay even for the ones who annoy us (because let’s face it, brilliance is sometimes eccentric).

This is not a job. It’s our adventure.

We don’t settle for anything less**.
